AN 1897 PATTERN BRITISH INFANTRY or ARTILLERY OFFICER'S DRESS SWORD, UNSIGNED, serial no. 1408,
circa World War One, with straight 32 3/4 spear-point blade, broad blind fuller to both sides and etched with arabesques and 'GRV' crown devices, nickel-plated half basket hilt engraved and pierced with scrolls and with the 'GRV' crown device repeated, wire-bound sharkskin grip, chequered back-strap and complete with its leather field scabbard, leather sword knot (dry, chipped) and oil-skin storage bag, generally fine condition
